O’Tooles Pub in the heart of Westover Hills on Forest Hill Road has been a family favorite for lunch and dinner for over 40 years.
The Irish American Society of Greater Richmond hosts a variety of Irish events throughout the year from concerts, lectures, dances and pub nights, in addition to their monthly meetings.
The Rare Olde Times pub in the west of Richmond in Canterbury Shopping Centre features
live music on the weekend. A trad tune or two may be heard there. Call ahead for
specifics.
Williamsburg
The College of William and Mary Bookstore hosts an Irish music session on Monday
nights from 7-
The 1st, 3rd and 5th Mondays are intermediate/advanced full
tempo
sessions.
The 2nd and 4th Mondays are set aside as beginner sessions
where
we keep the tempo slow and repeat tunes more often so
folks can pick up the
tunes.
We are a very open session. We just encourage folks to be mindful of typical session etiquette.
There are some times during the year when the session goes on hiatus. January, February , and early March sessions may be scheduled as rotating house sessions because the bookstore closes early in those months.
